The trailer and release date for the Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3 have been announced. This expansion has been in the works for over a year, as shown by the Chaos Dwarf voice files that Total War: Warhammer 3 dataminers found soon after the popular RTS game came out on PC in February 2022.
Since it came out, DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3 has been coming out pretty regularly. After Ogre Kingdoms, Champions of Chaos, and Blood for the Blood God, The Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs will be its fourth expansion.
Creative Assembly and Sega started teasing the upcoming DLC around the game’s first anniversary, so its arrival was widely expected. Even this long-awaited announcement joked that it was “honestly not really that secret.”
As part of the Total War: Warhammer 3 update 3.0, which is set to come out on April 13, Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs will be added. You can pre-order the DLC from the game’s official storefront for $22.49, which is 10% less than its regular price.

Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs, as its name suggests, adds the Chaos Dwarfs alliance to the list of factions in Total War: Warhammer 3. Chaos Dwarves, three of their Legendary Lords (Zhatan the Black, Drazhoath the Ashen, and Astaragoth Ironhand), and Gorduz Backstabber, one of their Legendary Heroes, will be added to the game.
Creative Assembly said in its most recent announcement that it plans to keep adding a record number of new playable heroes with each new expansion. So, it indirectly confirmed that Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs won’t be the last DLC for the game, even though some fans are already speculating about what’s next for the Total War franchise.
All lords in any pack will be able to hire the new Legendary Heroes, which the developer hopes will give players more tactical options and make the game more fun overall.
Total War: Warhammer 3 is not a cross-buy game, but the Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store versions can all play with each other. The base game is also available through Xbox Game Pass, and players can buy extra DLC like Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs from the Microsoft Store.
Cross-play lets fans choose which storefront to buy from based on which one has the best price. However, the Steam version of Total War: Warhammer 3 has the advantage of being integrated with Steam Workshop, which makes it the easiest to modify.
Total War: Warhammer 3 seems to be getting better and better, what with the upcoming release of Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs and the developer’s hint that more DLC is on the way.
