Valheim PS5 Release Date

Valheim Might Arrive on PS4 or PS5 Sooner Due to Microsoft Exclusivity Agreement

Valheim just came out a few days ago on the Xbox Game Pass, and it looks like it won’t be exclusive to Microsoft consoles for long. Recently, the game’s lead developer didn’t rule out Valheim ever coming out on PlayStation, and now we know about how long the game has to be exclusive to Xbox.

Valheim is a sandbox survival game that was first released for PC in 2021. It is based on Norse culture. Even though it was in Early Access, the game was a huge success. It sold more than 5 million copies and was one of the biggest games of the year. Part of the game’s appeal is that it has hard survival mechanics, a variety of interesting biomes, and multiplayer features that let people play with their friends while the pandemic was at its worst.

Now, not long after Valheim’s early access launch on Xbox, it came out that the game only has to be Xbox-only for six months. The first person to notice this was Push Square. The fine print of the Game Pass newsletter confirms that Valheim will only be an Xbox exclusive for six months. This means that it won’t be tied to any contracts after September 2023.

Did you know that Clive, the wolf companion Torgal of Final Fantasy XVI, and his special combat abilities were the focus of new gameplay footage released:

At first, it didn’t seem likely that PS5 players would be able to play Valheim since Smrs had said in a podcast that the Iron Gate team was only working on Xbox and PC at this point. But that might just mean that a port won’t be here soon, not that it won’t be here ever.

Even though this doesn’t mean for sure that the game will be available for PlayStation fans, it makes sense to make it for other platforms. Valheim is a big game, so it makes financial sense to put it out on as many consoles as possible.

Fans of Valheim will have more to look forward to in 2023 than the possibility that the game will be available on more platforms. In January, the game’s creators said they would add a new biome called Ashlands, which they called the “land of the dead.”

This new, dark area will be in the far south of the map and will be very different from most of the game’s other areas. It will also have a lot of new enemies. During the announcement, it was also said that there would be new quests and features, like being able to change the hairstyle of the main character.

At the moment, there is no official date for when the Ashlands update will come out, but it is likely to happen in the second half of 2023. Valheim is now playable on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S with early access.
