XDefiant Gameplay – Factions Currently Playable in the Game!

XDefiant is the latest multiplayer shooter trying to take Call of Duty’s FPS crown. Here’s everything you need to know about the gameplay of this new arena shooter. XDefiant, which used to be called Tom Clancy’s XDefiant, is a fast-paced arena shooter similar to Call of Duty.

It features factions of characters from many of Ubisoft’s series fighting in 6v6 team-based battles on a number of maps and game modes. It was first revealed in 2021 as a Tom Clancy game, but the name was changed when the game’s scope was changed to include Ubisoft games that weren’t part of the Tom Clancy subseries.

Do you know that fans were looking forward to the release of the Xbox Elite Series 3 controller because the Elite Series 2 controller changed Xbox gaming in a big way:

After games like Hyperscape, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Frontline, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms failed, Ubisoft is now trying to take over the free-to-play shooting market with XDefiant. XDefiant, on the other hand, seems to be picking up steam. Positive feedback from the open test suggests that this could be the next great arena shooter.

XDefiant Gameplay

XDefiant is a fast-paced arena shooter like Call of Duty. However, the main draw of the game is the factions system, which brings parts of hero shooters like Overwatch and Valorant to the game, with each faction having its own abilities. Here are the factions that are currently playable in the game and what they do best:

  • Libertad (Far Cry 6) – Medic
  • Phantoms (Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms) – battlefield control
  • Echelon (Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell) – stealth and intel
  • Cleaners (Tom Clancy’s The Division) – damage and incendiary weapons
  • DedSec (Watch Dogs 2) – hacking and deployable items

We don’t know for sure, but it seems likely that as the game develops, more groups will be added, like Rainbow Six, the Eden’s Gate cult from Far Cry 5, or even the Rabbids, if the game wants to get weird. We’ll just have to wait and see.
